DownloadSufferers of peripheral neuropathy are at some point and time told the nerve is dead nothing can be done, you have to learn to live with it. Look at this logically, if the nerve was dead, there would be no feeling at all, no numbness, no burning, no cold, no tingling, no pain, NOTHING, it would feel like a piece of wood. The nerve is not dead, and because of that something can be done, you don’t have to live with it.
Have you experienced the look on someone's face when you tell them you have neuropathy and your feet are numb and they hurt like the devil? They don’t understand, their idea of numb is going to the dentist and getting a shot of Novocain, their mouth can’t hurt, it’s numb. We have different nerve ending carrying different sensations, cold, cool, warm, hot, pain. Each nerve ending can be affected with neuropathy, and you can get all the different sensations, one at a time or all at once.
Scientific studies show that Gabapentin will decrease pain on average 25% for only 30 to 40 percent of the people taking it, or one that starts out at 56% reduction of pain (Lyrica®), yet no one knows how it works or what it is doing to the body and the effectiveness decreases over time down below 30% in 3 years and down into the teens within 5 years. 60 to 70% of the people prescribed Gabapentin will get no benefit from it, 44% will have no positive effects from Lyrica®. Half the people that it does work for will stop taking in within 6 months because of the side effects. They average patient that it does respond to gabapentin will have to increase the amount taken every 12 to 18 months to get the same relief until the hit the maximum dose, then what?
Scientists have identified over 100 causes for peripheral neuropathy, over 90% of those causes have one thing in common. After working to correct that one problem we have been able to use specific treatment protocols to reduce the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy by 70% or more in 9 out of 10 neuropathy suffers we work with over the past ten years.
